Stormwater Technician

LOCATION: San Diego, California DESCRIPTION: The Stormwater Technician is a crucial member of our field crew, responsible for maintaining the stormwater systems at hundreds of properties around southern California. The primary mission of this position is to represent Seventy1 Environmental’s quality of service and values by delivering timely, exceptional maintenance service and error-free, accurate reports with the highest possible attention to detail. The role involves caring for and operating the company truck and equipment, as well as maintaining a safe operation on every job. This position reports to the Field Manager. RESPONSIBILITIES: Inspect and clean storm drains and stormwater filtration systems. Know the ins and outs of assigned properties and respective stormwater systems Lead the maintenance service on assigned properties. Operate company truck and equipment, including vacuum, power washer, generators, pumps and power tools. Perform repairs, replacements and installs. Produce filter media pouches. Facilitate filter media replacement at assigned properties Accurately report the overall condition of the stormwater system at assigned properties by completing service reports using mobile device from field Make any recommendations, suggestions or improvements to stormwater system on assigned properties Report all units that should be replaced or repaired at assigned properties Operate apps from company mobile devices (expense reports, time cards, service reports, etc.) Take quality photos of each service at every property Keep trucks, equipment, tools and shop organized and tidy Execute disposal workflow Identify field inefficiencies and report them to Field Manager Promptly report any damage or issues with company vehicles to Field Manager Complete the Lead Tech Prep Sheet weekly for assigned properties scheduled the following week Coordinate special access at assigned properties Coordinate traffic control measures with Client Services Manager for assigned properties Secure parts/products needed for job at assigned properties before service date Ensure accurate records in software system for assigned properties Bring necessary equipment, tools and supplies to complete scope of work at assigned properties Provide service-related information to client or client services manager for assigned properties POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: Strong attention to detail Punctual, present and reliable Experienced in construction or maintenance Follows directions, guidelines and proper procedures Genuine interest in learning new things Proven track record of safe driving with license to operate vehicle Ability to operate large truck and equipment Takes ownership and pride in work Self-starting Efficient and organized Enjoys routine / procedure-oriented / process-oriented Physically fit: Able to easily lift 100 pounds and work a physically demanding job day in and day out Doesn't mind getting dirty Not afraid of spiders and insects Able to operate mobile applications and use computers and mobile devices (apple product experience preferred) Mechanically-inclined: knows how to work with tools and equipment Strong problem solving and decision making skills Good memory and ability to recall information related to properties and services Career-oriented / growth-oriented Intelligent, intuitive and capable Available 6:30AM to 3:30PM Monday through Friday with occasional early starts and OT Experienced with data entry and reporting Good communication skills, including spoken and written English (our crew is bilingual English/Spanish, but Spanish not required) CULTURE QUALIFICATIONS: Integrity: You choose to do the right thing, every time.
