Our clients, primarily property managers, aren’t always seeing the positive impact their property's stormwater filtration system makes on our environment. Many times, maintenance service is just another line item in the budget and a requirement from the city or county. But every day, we see firsthand the pollution that is being removed from these filtration systems, and it's pollution that would have otherwise passed through the storm drain system and out to our waterways.
By having their stormwater filtration system maintained, the managers of these properties are complying with municipal requirements, but they are also playing a role in pollution prevention. And we think that is something to feel good about!
We wanted to show our clients that this service actually means something. The simplest way to do this was to present hard data about how much stormwater pollution was removed from their property over the course of a year. So that’s exactly what we did.
In 2014, we started measuring and tracking the gallons of debris, trash and dirty standing water that was removed and properly disposed of at each property's service event. At the end of the year, we calculated the data. During 2014, we removed 125,000 gallons of pollutants from the storm drains of commercial and residential properties in San Diego, Riverside, Orange, Los Angeles and Ventura counties.

During the first quarter of 2015, we congratulated the managers with a Certificate of Contribution for their efforts towards cleaner water. Each manager's certificate included the total gallons of pollutants that were removed from the stormwater systems of their specific properties; pollutants that could have potentially ended up in our streams, rivers, bay or ocean.
We all play a role in water quality, and sometimes we are making an impact without even knowing it.
Thank you to the managers we work with every day!
